I found a zit on my chin last night.

It was larger the next morning.

The last time I saw a zit was eons ago. And that ended w/ a popping.

So naturally, there was a awkward silence b/t us.

After watching a show where Chip Foose "pimps" some unsuspecting schmoe's classic ride* I came to a realization:

*sans giovanni rims and 15" woofers, ridiculous bolt-on ground effects, and stupid paint jobs-- wrong show. Only thing to watch there is Xzibit. He cracks me up.

Another reason to regret not having gone to Comicon this year:
Jack Black Attack

I missed Tenacious D. Craparoni.

illogical crush #2419 foodie geek

I keep nudging my boyfriend to take me down to ComicCon. Guess who else will be in SD @ the same time. Coincidence or is CC *the* geek mecca?

So much shouting into the wind.

have you seen Mr.Sandman?

I haven't. Yawwn-diddly-awn.

So tired. I've got too many "pots boiling". 3d somehow has fallen to the wayside in favor of making rent. Freelance illustrating is hard, kids. Don't do it. Become doctors instead. The hustle is getting to me. It's seeping into my blog. The above was a quick&dirty 5 sec test to see if I could emulate sumi painting for another UK illustration gig (Pshop, 30 airbrush, blur/smudge tool for the bleed.) So yah, it's doable, but my brushes are riiiight over there, so dammit I'm doing old school style instead. It'll be nice to get away from this postcard sized digital tablet and back to the full body involvement of gestural painting. Looking forward to it. I'm telling ya the most peaceful place in the world for me was figure drawing-- the simplicity of charcoal on 18x24... I need that solace.

PJ Mars

In the cans: "To Bring You My Love", PJ Harvey & "Francis the Mute", The Mars Volta.

"South-of-the-Border"/Goth/Noir/Rock? Is there such a thing? L'Via L'Viaquez (all 12:21 mins. of it) is on repeat on winamp.

A crashhappy classic(tm)

w/ special guest reappearance of The Cat.

I found this in a sketchbook from last year. I'm not going home for the 4th this wkd, so it seemed timely. Miss y'all!
