Raining Rusty Nails, or the only scenario where my tetanus booster would be worth $100.

I say it once, I'll say it again. The American health care system is shite. Work yourself to death trying to afford health insurance. Then realize that insurance doesn't cover preventative health. THEN note that a tetanus shot includes and charge for the medication AND a charge for the actually shot. Could I just get the vail and have someone else shoot me up? "Hey you! On the corner! Got a clean needle?"

I mean, I'm glad I have insurance at all, but OUCH the bill is more painful than the shot.

Hmm. Upgrades.

Caught up with "Raaaaaannnnndaaaaaaaaaay!" yesterday, and while purusing the Art of Episode III book we decided Vader isn't a heavy breather. He just needs to upgrade.

Oh, thumbs up on Batman. That first hour was killer.

And Liam Neesom is foxy. Oh yes. The man comes alive (far, far...) away from wooden dialogue uttered in front of a blue screen. Ahem.

My neighbor must have the stereo right next to my bedroom wall. Course, unlike any *normal* person I can't get back to sleep until I I.D. the song.

At least with sex sounds there's no guessing involved. Haha. I need earplugs.

Battlefield 2: It's LAN-tastic.

So last night we checked NVIDIA/EA Battlefield LAN party, press conference thing up in SF.

My man-friend, Mr. Classy that he is, broke out in cold sweat over how valet parking worked (we don't go out much, ya), forgot to set car in park for the hand-off, and nearly rolled the thing off into the Bay. Once in, we gnoshed on complimentary food and drink while watching the 100+ plus LAN party(bring your own computer)from behind hurricane fencing. Like a nerd zoo. I did get to try out BF2 at the after party-- and boy am I out of practice. "Maybe I should lob a grenade-- like the one they just threw at me! AAWWWWWW!"

(uh, btw, the following line is "snack-sense". It's like free-food radar.)

.
Seriously, High Dyanic Range lighting, rendered real time is pretty nifty. Games are going to look like movies pretty damn soon. Check out HDR* in Unreal Tournament 2007 (oh the preview made me giddy), Age of Empires III, Huxley, and Tetris. Ahem.

*hah, if you can AFFORD the video card.

I am curious yellow.

Simpsons movie in production? So sez Nancy "Voice of Bart et. al." Cartwright. Charge me $10 to see Bart et. al. jump the shark, again? I sez "maybe".

COMMENCE W/ THE LATE NIGHT RAMBLE/RANT
Don't get me wrong. I loves me some Simpsons since the first episodes back in the day. And I'll be there opening weekend. But why make a movie?

What drawn-out-adventure-peppered-with-too-many-celeb-guest-voices kinda hell could this be? Beavis and Butthead movie, anyone?

I didn't see the "Spongebob Squarepants" movie, so I don't know if that's an argument for or against TV anims on the silver screen.

South Park got to go "beepless" w/ their R-rated flick (which I liked a lot). So if a (then)"edgy" TV show can escape the censoring bounds of TV, then yah, a film makes total sense. But Simpsons? Not that kinda show.

So many other rambling questions. I'll quit beating the horse with this:
The "problem" is that the show's been on SO long that it's a rare serial shark-jumper-- you think they've run it into the ground then they change up the focus, the structure, re-direct, and it's good again. They've done that so often, covered so much ground that doing a film doesn't avail them any opportunity to explore new territory except in length. If the highest praise one can give a animated series movie is "it's a good 2hr episode", then why bother making it? Why not just give us four weeks of good Simpsons TV instead?
